Two Miramonte alumni and recently graduated college students were sitting at home in the middle of the pandemic surrounded by QVC and Amazon packages that their mom has been begging them to take to the post office when it dawned on them that the worst part of online shopping is taking the risk that you might have to return something.
In the middle of the pandemic when no one wants to leave their house, let alone go out and shop at retail stores, Rocket Return fits what people need. The global online shopping market hit $4 trillion in 2020 with 25% of Americans shopping online at least once a month, online shopping is the future. And, let's be honest, no one wants to take time out of their busy day to re-package a return, drive to the post office, wait in line at the post office, and heaven forbid you to have to print out your own return label. Half the time we forget to return something within the 30-day time period or we just can’t be bothered to package it up so we leave it in the back of our closet, giving ourselves an empty promise that one day we are going to bring it down to goodwill, and in reality, we end up wasting our hard-earned money. Speaking from experience at my house we could fill a closet with the number of shirts with the tags still on and Amazon prime items that we’d thought we would try. So with the help of family and friends, we figured out a way to take the hassle out of returning. We developed a very easy-to-use app where you pick a day, decide if you want to package it up yourself or have us package it up for you, provide a return label or have us print it out for you, and then you’re done. You can even upload your Return summary QR code and we will do your UPS or FedEx drop-off while keeping track of how much money you’re saving and how much CO2 you’re saving while not driving to the post office.
